Creating Three Ducks
We’ve done a lot of eating to get things right for you!
Three Ducks is the result of a three year quest to find quality, tasty gluten free foods. The owner, Ali Morrow, is a Coeliac and a lover of great food who set out to find only the best gluten free products to share at her table.
Family and friends have put their tastebuds on the line for countless snacks, meals and experiments; we’ve sat around tables to compare products from all over Australia; we’ve talked with chefs, Coeliacs and wheat intolerant friends; and, we’ve met wonderful producers at food events and shared their passion for what they’ve created.
Finding so many good products naturally led to the creation of Three Ducks to share these finds with you.
A little bit about our head duck
Happiest when she’s cooking for a crowd or discovering great new foodie products, Ali Morrow might have a past in journalism, politics and corporate communications but her present and future is full of uncovering excellent gluten free food for Three Ducks.
Ali thought her gourmet lifestyle had come to a sudden halt when she found out she was a Coeliac in mid-2007.
To go from an unrestricted diet full of palatable possibilities to a world of food restrictions, painstaking explanations to waiters and chefs and friends who suddenly found themselves GF by default on a dining night out was a shock to the system, albeit a suffering system!
Railing at the highly processed ‘cardboard’ GF food products on offer (and the prices!) Ali determinedly set out on a quest to find quality GF food to share with family and friends – and discovered a vibrant Australian foodie community catering for the gluten free.
Bringing quality GF products to the community is at the heart of Three Ducks. Talking with the people who create excellent products gives her energy. Having good food to share, regardless of dietary requirements, is what brings her joy.
